Dear Friend,
Lucius Annaeus Seneca, my favorite historical figure once stated that, "We are more often frightened than hurt; and we suffer more from imagination than from reality." In fact, we often summon ourselves to fall accountable for what our imaginations have created. It is that imagination the muse of our actions; it is because of that imagination that we erroneously preconceive attitudes that affect our lifemates.
Notwithstanding, ‘it is not only for that sin that I come close to you’. It is for your innate ability to reframe your brain – for it is a beautiful mind the one who will guide us to coexisting with humanizing technologies. You that see the beauty in life, you that understand less - the more you learn, and you that still hold the hope of transcendence: it is for you that I write.
However, regarding the fact that I am not certain if you inhabit my reality, or I am another voice of yours, I will refer to the subject of this argument as us from this point forward. It is us who connect to constitute the state of things, as they actually exist. Even more, because of us, what you perceive is always in its space and time.
Note: Perhaps if I clarify my intention, you can better relate to my rationale. As argued by Eric Erikson, “In the social jungle of human existence, there is no feeling of being alive without a sense of identity.” Then, I will have the audacity to add: the more we live the more we ‘identify’. Furthermore, I think that every human should begin identifying with the human race (other than a single ethnical group).
On the other hand & as agreed by most of us, a global population exists. Yet, we naturally identify with just a portion of it. As a matter of fact, some of us even stubbornly persist in underestimating the value of those who have been born in other regions. Even more, sometimes provoking conflicts led by bias, lack of knowledge, and misunderstanding.
Though, we are no longer living in primitive times; our current world is led by constant technological booms that bring us closer to annihilation than to subsistence; because it is us who decide over our future, we need to reconsider our approach to education, policy-making, and economic behavior.
At last, it is not my duty to criticize your way of life or to lecture you on the correct practices. Still, I want to ask for your support, opinion, and ideas. You exist, at least in my life. Consequently, this is a plea for your freedom of conscience! Please use your skills to ensure life for future generations. Regardless of your inclinations, please think of humanity as a whole, as it is as a whole that it will perish if we do not get to work.
They need you, we need you, and you need you. Thank you for living!
